A player of my Rise of the Runelords campaign had a very wonderful character idea that was unfortunately very limited because of the Pathfinder system and how it treats the Spellslinger archetype found in Ultimate Magic. In order to better accommodate later level viability of the archetype, rather than have it fall flat, a slight change was introduced to the Eldritch Knight prestige class.

The following two class features are introduced with changes in bold. Changes were introduced by my friend who prefers to go by the name Wierdoom.

  • Bonus Feat: At 1st level, an Eldritch Marksman may choose a bonus combat or grit feat. This is in addition to the feats that a character of any class normally gets from advancing levels. The character must still meet any prerequisites for these bonus feats. An Eldritch Marksman gains an additional combat or grit feat at 5th and 9th level.
  • Diverse Training: An Eldritch Marksman adds his level to any levels of Gunslinger he might have for the purpose of what deeds he may perform (if he has no Gunslinger levels, treat his Eldritch Marksman levels as levels of Gunslinger). He also adds his level to any levels of Gunslinger for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites for grit feats only. He also adds his level to any levels in an arcane spellcasting class for the purpose of meeting the prerequisites for feats.
