This is a creature constructed as a GURPS creature that took part in the Lest Dispelled Golarion campaign. It is a conversion from Pathfinder SRD content. To preface this post, a note will be made that recent inactivity has been due to inactivity of working on and running sessions for this GURPS campaign which has gone into hiatus.
Background
Description
Spittle drips from this feral bear’s roaring maw, and its matted fur is broken in places by wicked, bony growths. 1
Appearances
This particular creature appeared in the Lest Dispelled Golarion GURPS campaign I was running where the PCs encountered it in the woods south of Sandpoint after returning from a vision of the future.
Why They Are Cool
The intention of this beast of a monster was to be a fearsome adversary to the adventurers, a reminder of the cruel world outside of the small mundane village of Sandpoint. Furthermore, it served as a juxtaposition to another sort of bear they met before having their glimpse into a possible future of the region. Possessing immense Strength (ST),
Why They Missed the Spot
When struck by bolas, this creature was rendered incredibly inefficient. In reality, this isn’t a problem — immobility is a crippling status for a creature with no fine manipulators and that walks on four feet. In the end, why the creature missed the spot was because I was not capable of finding out how effective they could be in close quarter combat.
