Meet Shalelu Andosana: Self-Proclaimed Protector

Another NPC block for my GURPS campaign, a loose adaptation of the Jade Regent Pathfinder Adventure Path. The four starring NPCs in this campaign serve a very important role and are recurring characters for the PCs to interact with. This is the second of four NPCs to be previewed on this blog.

Although she is somewhat enigmatic for those that know her, Shalelu is one of Sandpoint’s most admired heroes and protectors. Known to be a loner and explorer of the Hinterlands, it is not uncommon for her to remain away for months at a time to visit friends in other regions of Varisia. She never fails to return to Sandpoint, though; when asked why, she merely replied that someone has to keep an eye on Sandpoint and all its citizens. She is still fairly young at the age of 130 yet still remembers a time when the coastline was merely ruins of the nation of Thassilon 1.

This is my envisioning of the character of Shalelu Andosana, a female elf and very close friend to Ameiko, in the GURPS system. The statistic block is below; I will go into some more detail for why I chose some of the features or attributes.

I applied the Elf template from my Golarion conversion to GURPS (these base racial templates will be expanded upon in a later post).

The character of Shalelu is depicted as a very lonesome elf who has grown an attachment to the people of the town of Sandpoint. Her shyness, introversion, and extreme combat prowess are reflected in the features and skills selected in this block.

Her wandering of the Varisian Sandpoint Hinterlands and her training as a scout of the wilderness has provided her with a plethora of skills in this grain. She is acrobatic, knowledgable of this region, and very good at surviving in the woods around her favourite town.

The character of Shalelu was a background NPC in the Rise of the Runelords campaign I previously ran.
