Postdoctoral position


Project description and responsibilities.
The selected individual will analyze brain imaging and cognitive data from different groups of patients with neurological conditions or neurodevelopmental disorders and controls from the general population. They will analyse brain degeneration patterns and brain activity profiles to find imaging biomarkers that can be used to identify, diagnose, and evaluate the progression of neurological conditions. As a general approach, we combine statistical and computational techniques to model neuroimaging data. The successful candidate will strengthen and/or expand on this approach and will be responsible for designing their own experiments in collaboration with the rest of the team. The key responsibilities and duties are:


+ Designing and conducting research studies

+ Disseminating research findings

+ Co-supervising student projects

+ Developing their technical skills to expand their scientific potential


Duration of the contract: 2 years with possibility of annual extension.


Starting date: Fall 2022 (flexible)

Required qualifications.


+ A doctoral degree in computational or cognitive neuroscience, physics, mathematics, machine learning, medicine, psychology or a related neuroscience field.

+ Strong interest in the field of neuroimaging

+ Relevant publications in the neuroimaging field


Desired qualifications.


+ Experience performing clinical research in neurological conditions.

+ Strong publication record in peer-reviewed scientific journals

+ Proficiency in programming languages (such as Python, MATLAB, R)

+ Experience using neuroimaging software (FSL, SPM, Freesurfer, fMRIprep)

+ Good level of computational methods (machine learning, data mining)

+ Good organizational and project management skills

+ Excellent communication skills (writing and speaking)
