Faezeh bubble Faezeh Moradi PhD Computer Science (2021)
My project aims to find sparse probabilistic graphical models for rs-fMRI data to investigate the interactions between brain regions and to identify fMRI biomarkers that informs about the stage of neurodegenerative diseases. Hence, I am using Gaussian Markov Networks to build a functional connectivity network that captures conditional dependencies between brain regions.

I am working on developing a neurodevelopment toolbox. This project aims to provide a comprehensive set of analytical functionalities tailored to support developmental research, allowing for in-depth investigations into the dynamic changes that occur in the human brain during its early stages and throughout its development.

My research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and neuroscience. I focus on the application of deep learning techniques especially graph neural networks and image-based models for analyzing neuroimaging data such as fMRI and MRI. My work is particularly centered on the early detection of neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders, including Alzheimers disease and autism, using AI-based methods in healthcare.

The progression of brain network disruption due to neurodegenerative disease still remains poorly understood. My project aims to model the brain functional connectivity by analyzing longitudinal fMRI data using deep learning. This research seeks to identify meaningful patterns in brain dynamics that could contribute to early diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression.
