My research interest is in using technology to improve quality of life for people with mobility disorders ranging from stroke to limb deficiency to chronic pain. I am currently analyzing MRI data from spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) patients from around the world to better understand how grey and white matter thinning progress in different types of SCA.

Faezeh bubble Faezeh Moradi PhD Computer Science (2021)
My project aims to find sparse probabilistic graphical models for rs-fMRI data to investigate the interactions between brain regions and to identify fMRI biomarkers that informs about the stage of neurodegenerative diseases. Hence, I am using Gaussian Markov Networks to build a functional connectivity network that captures conditional dependencies between brain regions.

yao bubble Yao Li MSc Computer Science (2024)
I am working on developing a neurodevelopment toolbox. This project aims to provide a comprehensive set of analytical functionalities tailored to support developmental research, allowing for in-depth investigations into the dynamic changes that occur in the human brain during its early stages and throughout its development.

bei bubble Bei Ni Tan MSc Computer Science (2024)
Dedicated to advancing the application of neuroimaging techniques in the field of neuroscience. I will use machine learning and statistical models to find fMRI biomarkers in mental disorders.

simal bubble Simal Dolek MSc Psychology & Neuroscience (2024)
My master's project aims to identify brain biomarkers of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) using advanced neuroimaging analysis. This research seeks to deepen our understanding of the neural underpinnings of PTSD, possibly offering clinicians novel diagnostic tools for earlier and more reliable diagnoses, ultimately informing personalized treatment plans and improving patient outcomes.

hariesh bubble Hariesh Sivakumar MSc Computer Science (2024)
The progression of brain network disruption due to neurodegenerative disease still remains poorly understood. My project aims to model the brain functional connectivity by analyzing longitudinal fMRI data using deep learning. This research seeks to identify meaningful patterns in brain dynamics that could contribute to early diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression.
