Dr. Nur zincir-Heywood

I am a professor in the Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I am interested in designing and developing intelligent and secure systems for modeling and analyzing different behaviours on applications, services and networks.

On May 30th, 2017, I was recognized as a digital diversity leader by Digital Nova Scotia and earned the 2017 Women Leaders in the Digital Economy. Check it out here! This is a great honour and a pleasure :-) One of the best days of my life!

Thank you Digital Nova Scotia and Thank you Dalhousie Computer Science!

There are interesting conferences and workshops I’m involved with organizing: IEEE AnNet‘2017, ACM SecDef‘2017, and GECCO‘2017 Tutorial on Network Management and Security.

And Journal Special Issues on which I’m a Guest Editor: CFP for IEEE TNSM, Wiley IJNM.

What a great time we had at our first “Dal FCS Hands on Security Day”! Thanks a lot to 2Keys and Cisco for sponsoring our event on December 16, 2016! And of course, thanks a lot to all of our students who made it a day of fun with great detective work :-)

Thanks to everyone who attended the “Big Dream” screening event. We had a packed house :-)

Did you see our story on “RED VS. BLUE: CS STUDENTS COMPETE IN CYBER‑SECURITY SHOWDOWN”? Check it out here!

It was an honour and a big pleasure for me to give the Fall 2014 Convocation Address (Oct 6th @ 9:30 AM) this year! Congratulations to all the graduands and their family & friends!

Our research was also covered in the Computer Science Magazine!
