Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is not tolerated, which is in accordance with the university policy that all suspected cases of plagiarism are not handled by instructor, but must be reported to the academic integrity officer (AIO), and may be further handled by the Senate Committee on Plagiarism. The penalties for plagiarism range from failing the course to expulsion from the university.

Plagiarism includes copying solutions or parts of solutions from your classmates, from the web, or other resource, without clearly acknowledging it. (Of course, if you copy a solution with a clear acknowledgement, it will not be treated as a plagiarism case, but you may receive a very low grade.) A student allowing that his solution is copied is also not allowed, and is treated as a case of plagiarism.
