European Innovation Academy Program

Attend entrepreneurship program this summer in Europe! A three-week entrepreneurship program is offered this summer by European Innovation Academy (EIA) from July 15 to August 3rd, 2018 in Cascais, Portugal. The program is offered in a collaborative model where successful completion of the program is linked with a course Computer Science credit.

European Innovation Academy is a high-impact program that supports multidisciplinary teams to bring new innovations and ideas to the market. Participants follow milestones from idea to launch in teams of five, with the help of accomplished experts: business mentors, IT specialists, design experts, IP mentors and investors. Academic Information

The program is linked to the Computer Science course (CSCI 4190 Special Topics in Computer Science, Innovation Study Abroad). The course requirements are:

  1. Completing the 3-week program in Portugal
  2. Submitting a project report based on the program experience

Week 1: Customer Development
Week 2: Marketing Campaign, Prototypes, and “Product Sprint”
Week 3: Funding and Pitching Aug 3, 2018: Program Completion and Final Events

The Dalhousie University and Faculty of Computer Science provide some funding that could cover completely or partially the cost of the registration feed. Students will need to apply for funding as part of the application package.

Eligibility Requirements

The program is available to the undergraduate Computer Science students (BCS and BACS). (Exceptions for graduate students will be considered.)

Minimum GPA: 2.5
