    I serve as the director of the Master of Applied Computer Science (MACS) program at the Faculty of Computer Science.

    I serve as the Chair of the Master of Applied Computer Science (MACS) committee at the Faculty of Computer Science.

    As the director of MACS, I serve on the Dean’s executive committee at the Faculty of Computer Science.
  • Curriculum Committee (July 2017 – Present)
    I serve on the Curriculum Committee at the Faculty of Computer Science.
  • Faculty Associate, Dalhousie Centre for Learning and Teaching  (September 2016 – Present)
    I serve as a faculty associate at the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT). In this role, I am a liaison for new faculty members at Dalhousie. I am working with the education developers at CLT to establish a community of practice for Dalhousie academic staff.
  • Volunteer – Dalhousie Women in Technology Society (WiTS) (May 2015 – Present)
    The Women in Technology Society aims at promoting technology education among women and to promote gender equality in technology education. I believe the more men need to be encouraging women in technology roles and I am proud to be volunteering my time helping WiTS in their noble cause.

    I serve on the Committee on Promoting a Culture of Respect and a Bias Free Learning Environment at the Faculty of Computer Science.
  • Co-Founder and President – Dalhousie Computer Science Graduate Society (Mar 2014-April 2015)
    We founded the Dalhousie Computer Science Graduate Society (CSGS) to address the specific needs of graduate students at the Faculty of Computer Science. The society was ratified in March 2014. We organized activities to engage the graduate student body at the Faculty. I served as the President of the CSGS between March 2014 and April 2015.

    I was on the CS Graduate Society Committee on Promoting a Bias Free Learning Environment, which works with the Faculty of Computer Science Committee on Culture of Respect and creating a bias free learning environment.

  • Co-Founder and Organizing Committee Member – FCS Free School (Feb 2013-Feb 2014)
    FCS FreeSchool is modeled along the lines of FreeSkool, with students signing up for and teaching other students what they want to learn, and some of what the “teachers” are interested to teach. Essentially, FreeSchool is a set of classes run by the students for the students, which are of short duration. In other words, FreeSchool is all about Teaching, Learning and Having Some Fun!! At FreeSchool, prepare to learn something exciting in a very short time. Click here for more information.
  • Organizing Co-Chair Dalhousie Computer Science In-House Conference (DCSI) (Jan 2012-Jan 2014)
    I was the organizing Co-Chair of DCSI between January 2012 and January 2014. DCSI is an annual in-house conference at the Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University. The objective of this conference is to provide an opportunity for the students and faculty members to showcase their research to industry, and to broaden the research community within the Faculty of Computer Science.
    A second goal of this conference is to provide students with a first-hand experience of the various processes in a conference, recognizing that many may be in the process of submission of papers / be aspiring to submit papers to conferences.
  • Tutor / Instructor, MYTech Lab – SuperNOVA Summer Camp (June 2013 – August 2013)
    SuperNOVA is a student-led, not-for-profit initiative of Dalhousie University that promotes science, engineering, technology and mathematics (STEM) to youth.
    Our lab was involved in teaching the youth who had registered for SuperNOVA Summer Camp about emerging wireless technologies in general and giving them a glimpse of our research. Click here for more information about SuperNOVA.
  • Graduate Representative – Dalhousie Computer Science Society (Sep 2012-Apr 2013)
    I was the Graduate Representative between 27 September 2012 and 06 April 2013. From the get-go, I adopted a policy of reaching out to the graduate students and one of the first activities involved going around the campus and personally interacting with the graduate students. I was instrumental in creating and managing the Graduate Student Meetings, a monthly meeting of all graduate students, which was an interface between graduate students at the Faculty of Computer Science and the graduate representative, which was my role at the time. This was a time where I gave updates about my activities / participation in the various committees / meetings and the happenings at the Faculty, and was when all graduate students had an equal opportunity to give their suggestions for activities / raise concerns, etc. As the graduate representative, I was also an active member of the graduate committee at the Faculty, and was responsible for conceptualizing and organizing the first ever Winter Orientation for Graduate Students in January 2013, besides attending and being actively involved in the Faculty Council.
