Evangelos Milios received a Dipl. Eng. from the NTUA, Athens, Greece, and Master’s, EE, and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served as Research Associate at the University of Toronto, and as Associate Professor at York University. Since 1998 he has been with the Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he served as Director of the Graduate Program (1999-2002) and as Associate Dean - Research (2008-2017). He is a Senior Member of the IEEE. At Dalhousie, he held the Killam Chair of Computer Science (2006-2011), he is University Research Professor since 2017, and Scientific Director of DeepSense, an innovation engine for ocean data analytics. He served as a member and Chair of the NSERC Computer Science Evaluation Group for the Discovery Grants program. His main research is on modelling and mining of content and link structure of Networked Information Spaces, text mining and visual text analytics.
