The 'Perceptual User Interface'

"... perceptual intelligence is paying attention to people and the surrounding situation in the same way another person would, thus allowing these new devices to learn to adapt their behavior to suit us, rather than adapting to them as we do today."

Key to perceptual intelligence, an awareness of:

Environment
'Who' the users are
Human expression:

Facial expressions,
Gestures,
Tone and emphasis of voice

Not some kind of 'super AI' goal;
Rather simple, reliable and useful responses to the environment

Environment is 'local' - not massively distributed over an Intranet/Internet
