Some Good Books
This is a list of some of the literary books I greatly admire and enjoy.
They are in no particular order. I also have lists of books about programming and writing scholarly works.

- Walden
- by Henry David Thoreau
- Great Expectations
- by Charles Dickens (see note)
- The Inner Side of the Wind, or The Novel of Hero and Leander
- by Milorad Pavić (as translated into English from the Serbo-Croatian by
Christina Pribićević-Zorić)
- True Names and other dangers
- by Vernor Vinge
- Neuromancer
- by William Gibson
- (I enjoyed the sequel, Count Zero more but it doesn't
make as much sense without Neuromancer, and
Neuromancer is, to my mind, stylistically better.)
- Small Gods
- by Terry Pratchett
- The Sandman serial
- written by Neil Gaiman
- The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman
- by Laurence Sterne
- (A great work of experimental fiction! An edition with notes, such as
that published by Oxford World Classics, is much easier to follow
than one without notes.)
