Yongzheng Zhang obtained a B.E. in Computer Applications from Southeast University, China in 1997. He got his M.S. and Ph.D. both in Computer Science from Dalhousie University in 2002 and 2007, respectively. From 1997 to 1999 he was an instructor and undergraduate advisor at Southeast University. Before he came to Dalhousie University in 2000, he also worked as a software engineer in Ricom Information and Telecommunications Co. Ltd., China. While at Dalhousie, Yongzheng was a member of both the Machine Learning and Networked Information Spaces group and the Dalhousie Natural Language Processing group. Since May 2006, he has been a research scientist with eBay Inc. in San Jose, CA. His research interests are in the areas of Information Retrieval, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, and Web Mining, particularly centered on Web Document Summarization. He has published several journal and conference articles on Web site summarization, automatic term extraction, and Web document clustering. A paper based on his Master's thesis received the best paper award at the 2003 Canadian Artificial Intelligence Conference.
