Outline:

This course is a basic introduction to technology issues and in particular web-centric programming for electronic commerce students without previous CS or programming background. We cover some basic networking, web programming, and cryptopgraphy topics. Specifically we will introduce and discuss XHTML,XML, basic JavaScript, PHP, SQL & Database access, session and access control, and web services.

Robert W. Sebesta, Programming the World Wide Web

I will use the third edition. This text was also used last year, so there might be some used copies around.

We are mainly going through the follwing chapters: 1,2,4,5,8, 12 14

 
Grading Scheme:

All but one assignments have to be passed in order to be elidigble for the final project. The final grade will be based on a project, which includes a presentation and final paper.
