Hilmi Gunes Kayacik

Currently, I am a machine learning researcher at Nominum, in San Francisco Bay Area, working on various projects, which I can briefly summarize as ‘big data’ or ‘finding (security related) needles in many haystacks.’

Until July 2011, I have been a post-doctoral fellow at the Carleton University, Computer Security Lab (CCSL). In March 2009, I have defended my PhD thesis at Dalhousie University, Faculty of Computer Science.

I have been doing research on machine learning and its applications to computer security. In particular, I am interested in intrusion detection, application security, network and exploit analysis. This site provides some information on my current and past research. Please refer to the list of publications to find detailed information. Send me an email at <my last name> (at) gmail (dot) com if you have any questions or require further information about my research.
